Digital Marketing specialists that understand your goals and implement only the necessary marketing activities to get your business there

Are you spending marketing budget on the wrong thing?

Business owners and marketing managers are bombarded with marketing solutions all day long, praying on fear of missing out or being told that sales can be easier with certain tools or that there is an easy method they can purchase. Things you actually need to do are:

I choose the right marketing approach that suits individual businesses. For one of my clients, we could go straight to performance marketing because of the market they operated in resulting in a 6:1 ROAS. For another, we built the brand first before jumping into performance. It’s the same destination just with the right path for your business.

Simplify and succeed

The most common problem I run into is businesses outsourcing their marketing to agencies or freelancers that don’t understand their specific needs and goals. As a result, their marketing efforts are often wasted without any substantial growth. Your goal as a business is, simply, sales and each business requires its own approach that suits the market it competes in. However, most businesses are just sold a bunch of stuff and they can’t determine if it is effective. I approach each business with fresh eyes and plan a road ahead that suits that specific business. A “goal mindset” in marketing is not clever ideas for attention or being competitive with team mates or other agencies, it is defining what will make the business successful and building a marketing operations system that delivers that.

I have successfully managed social advertising campaigns for my clients. It can be a tricky area to navigate if you do not know what you are looking for. There are a number of costs involved in setting up successful Facebook ads including getting the right creative assets, the media budget to pay for the ads and the staff or freelancer to manage the execution of the campaign. It can be a few months before you see a return on ads, depending on how much successful advertising you have done in the past. I have delivered results as high as 8:1 ROAS for clients but not all clients are the same. There are 100s of marketing services that will tell you about a great Return On Ad Spend (ROAS) so it’s kind of meaningless. Our conversation will begin with where you are currently at with your business and then develop a way forward. I’ve spoken to people that have spent $15k on creative assets and then only had $5K left to pay for ads so people can see the content and take a valuable action such as a purchase. This is why a strategy and resources discussion first is so much more important than me putting on a sales pitch.

You should only pay an influencer for promotion if you have statistical justification for their potential impact. For example, a client of mine paid an influencer for promotion and they didn’t see any sales impact in that month. I used an influencer tool to check their demographic and engagement statistics. Most of their audience was not based in the country the client was selling their product. They based their influencer choice on where the influencer lived, not where the audience lived.  So my approach is:

  • The influencer must be relevant to the brand values and target audience
  • There must be statistical justification such as the bulk of their audience is located in the target demographic
  • The cost must be reasonable in relation to the potential reach and engagement of the activity
  • The content must seem authentic and on trend if possible.

This is an area where a business can throw away a lot of money for very little return. It is about trial and error until a growth pattern emerges. With Reels and TikTok guiding best practice, person-to-camera or UGC-focused content is dominating news feeds. This is a bit of a game-changer for outsourcing content. When platforms like Instagram were photo and designed image focused, you could outsource this quite easily. Now if you don’t have a natural spokesperson or on-camera talent in the organisation, it can be difficult to pivot to the new best practice. I have successfully coached business owners to succeed in this area. For an example, you can see where this client of mine started filming his videos in Reels/TikTok style format compared to his previous work. Some of his videos in the first two months of the new approach received over 1 million views. His videos are now consistently 40K to 1M views whereas previously the videos averaged around  10K and lower. You can scroll through here – https://www.instagram.com/the_dog_nutritionist/reels/

There are many common issues with Google ad accounts such as poor keyword research, not using negative keywords, bad ad structure, not tracking conversions etc. But the most common issue is unrealistic expectations. It’ll take time, money and the right skill managing the campaigns to see results. I start with assessing if it’s the right channel to invest in for your particular business and then look to audit the account for improvement. If it’s an important part of your business and you’re not getting the right results, contact us and we can have a conversation. If I can help by recommending the right approach or the right cost appropriate talent I will do so free of charge.  Click here to book in for a free strategy session.

Yes, I can. Email marketing when done well can bring in a lot of revenue for your business. It also often an area that is overlooked or not done well by many businesses. If you are paying for traffic through Google ads or Facebook ads and you aren’t trying to get that potential customer’s email address – then you that traffic you paid for will disappear and add zero value to your business. However, if you offer incentive to get them on a mailing list, you can follow up with value adding content or offers to entice them further without having to pay to serve them another ad. It’s that simple. Email marketing gives each business the opportunity to follow-up to website visitors without paying more on serving another ad to that person. I have project managed websites for clients, but I do not build them. A lot of people opt for offshore outsourced website development which can be great for costs but if you don’t know what to ask for you may get an ineffective website. Someone like me project managing or assisting with pre-development preparation can help you get the best out of your developers. Click here to book in for a free strategy session.

I am a consultant. The difference being that you are not paying for a whole team in an agency who are specialised in one area. Agencies are becoming an ever-more scrutinised operating expense for businesses due to the lack of attention they can give each client. I have a diverse skillset that means I won’t try to sell you one thing. I can bring in any on-going specialists if required, I can upskill you and your team on how to manage them and then you can let me go. I have managed digital ad campaigns hands on, I have implemented email marketing automated flows hands-on. I have helped clients hire the right agency and have managed underperforming agencies back into good performance. My service is business focused outcomes through the right marketing for your specific business rather than one specialised area. This way I can create a bespoke resourcing solution for your business rather than getting you to sign onto a one-size-fits all service offering that doesn’t fit all. The most important outcome for a business is revenue/profit but that doesn’t mean investing all your money into ads or sales focused activity will equal that goal. For certain product categories, you may need to build your brand through influencer work, PR and social proof to encourage more sales. For example, a fashion brand for Gen Z may do an influencer campaign at the same time as ads to encourage likability and preference amongst their target audience. Whereas an electrical goods store with good reviews and great prices could go straight to just digital advertising. You could be one of the 100s of companies selling vitamins, if you can’t beat people on price then you need to somehow communicate quality. What’s most important is investing only into those channels or activities that encourage sales for your SPECIFIC BUSINESS. Click here to book in for a free strategy session.
